San Jose is on its way to develop its largest quick-build housing community to combat homelessness after receiving $51.6 million in state funds on Thursday. The city, along with its development partner LifeMoves, will develop 204 units at Branham Lane and Monterey Road. The housing project makes up 20 percent of San Jose's goal to build or plan 1,000 interim housing units by the end of the year. It's also the fifth housing project developed in the city, with a total of 717 beds completed, under development or planned.
